This past Monday, Saint George hosted an exclusive fundraiser in support of OzHarvest. With the canapé menu led by none other than chef James Metcalfe himself, it's no wonder why the night was so successful.
The team substantially surpassed their goal of $10,000, which will translate into more than 20,000 meals for the less fortunate people of Sydney.

Kicking off the Petite Bouche Chef of The Month for 2019 is chef James Metcalfe. James is the Managing Director of JRM Hospitality and owner of Sydney's newest all-day restaurant and wine bar Saint George, Sydney.
His career has spanned over 25 years working in both hatted and Michelin star restaurants across Sydney and London. JRM officially began in 2009 when James spotted a gap in the market for highly trained staff in the hospitality sector for venues and events.
James Metcalfe moved over from the UK long enough ago for it to not matter, but there’s one thing from the motherland he carries with him in everything he does: bloody good food.
It’s been his calling card from his old days back at Becasse and The Bellevue and now at his newest and nicest venue, Saint George in Chippendale.
As reported earlier, much lauded chef and director of JRM Hospitality (and former Becasse star) James Metcalfe has opened the doors to his new venue Saint George. Sitting in central Broadway, the 120 square-metre bar and eatery is focused on all-day dining, with a breakfast offering as well as plenty of vino to choose from come night fall. Comfortably seating 45, Saint George will be open seven days a week until late. While primarily a restaurant, the space will shortly also offer a separate events space dubbed George’s Garage which is set to open next month.
Chippendale's newest eatery Saint George sits at the busy Broadway end of George Street. The window signage proclaims a cheeky "Coffee and booze for the working class" as a homage to Sydney's workers. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it offers a twist on the usual offerings but dinner is where things get interesting.

Saint George is positioned between gritty Railway Square and the thriving Kensington Street precinct on a corner that, until recently, was a convenience store dispensing energy drinks and snacks. Helmed by a chef with Michelin-star credentials, James Metcalfe, Saint George is similarly hoping to provide sustenance for those in need.
“Coffee and booze for the working class” is printed on one of its giant windows overlooking busy George Street. And while caffeine, wines and cocktails are part of the stylish room’s inevitable draw, it’s what’s coming from the kitchen that we’re most excited about.
