'PIG & SWIG' WITH SECRET FOODIES AT SAINT GEORGE

Last month Saint George were lucky enough to have a visit from the Secret Foodies! Secret Foodies offers a surprise dining experience where the venue and menu is not disclosed to guests until the last minute.

The Secret Foodies were asked that if they could only eat one kind of meat for the rest of their life, what would it be? Their amazing guests answered with pig! James was more than ready for to take on the challenge and did he deliver!

To begin, guests were served a ‘Bacon me Angry’ cocktail which was accompanied by individual cups of pea and ham soup and smoked ham hock croquettes with grabiche sauce.

For entree, three different pork dishes were served. Crispy pork jowl topped with rhubarb and Chinatown flavours, salad of prosciutto with fresh melon balls and prawn carpaccio with a bacon vinaigrette. The dish was full of flavour, surprise and creativity.

Pot roast spiced pork shoulder with fennel puree and spiced ginger pork jus greeted guests for their mains. The crackling was extremely popular!

To carry the theme through to the end of the evening, James served up smoked bacon creme caramel. Again, very popular among the foodies.

SAINT GEORGE HOST THE JRM SOCIAL SERIES #007 IN SUPPORT OF OZ HARVEST

This past Monday, Saint George hosted an exclusive fundraiser in support of OzHarvest. With the canapé menu led by none other than chef James Metcalfe himself, it's no wonder why the night was so successful.

The team substantially surpassed their goal of $10,000, which will translate into more than 20,000 meals for the less fortunate people of Sydney.

A huge thank you to all who attended for their incredible generosity

THE F REVIEW | SAINT GEORGE BY CHEF JAMES METCALFE IN CHIPPENDALE IS DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT

James Metcalfe moved over from the UK long enough ago for it to not matter, but there’s one thing from the motherland he carries with him in everything he does: bloody good food.

It’s been his calling card from his old days back at Becasse and The Bellevue and now at his newest and nicest venue, Saint George in Chippendale.
